New blog, new beginnings

I have been WAITING for this day for a long time!!

Alas! It is here! The day when I can share with the world what God has been doing in our life and share the faces that He has inscribed on our hearts.

I did spill the beans in my New Years post and it has come out on Facebook, but there may still be some of you that have not heard...

WE ARE ADOPTING!!!

and TODAY we received permission to share with you, the TWO boys that have stolen our hearts!

But first of all, I need to welcome you to our new blog!

Much different than Landon’s letters huh? I thought we needed something a little brighter for this next chapter of our lives. Our hearts are in a different place now. It’s a place where trials and suffering, don’t necessarily mean darkness to us. I believe I’m at a place where I can paint my heart, joy and pain, on a white canvas. I wasn’t at this place on the day I launched Landon’s letters.

I do want to clear up one more thing before I introduce you to "the boys".

We have received some comments that, although were not meant to hurt us, have.

Because of them, we feel like we need to explain that we are not shifting our focus from Landon to our adoption of these two precious ones.

Our focus is staying where it has always been...

On Jesus and on living a life that brings Him glory.

We follow Jesus whether He leads us to an OR waiting room, across the world, or anywhere else. We are not stopping Landon's story to write a new one, we are continuing the story God has written for us before the beginning of time.

So without further ado, meet our two future sons!!

Our Ivan

I scrolled through all of the pictures of the precious children on Reece's Rainbow, but when my eyes met his, I froze and I couldn't look away. There was something about him that reminded me so much of Landon. I think it's his soulful eyes.

It was like his eyes spoke straight to my heart and asked it the question that tormented it for the next couple days. "Will you love me?"

Eventually, after unceasing prayer, Ryan and I threw our fears out the window and told God we are ALL IN!!

We love this child more than we can express to you with our words. We love him more than any mind could conceive.

We simply and purely LOVE HIM!!!

Our Levi

We thought we were crazy when we told God "Yes, we would adopt." We couldn't imagine that God could ask any more of us, but then it happened. Late one night I clicked on a button that, I didn't know at the time, would take me to the pictures of other children in Ivan's orphanage. You know that moment when your screen is changing and the picture slowly appears in chunky pieces? That was my first glimpse of Simeon. Instantly I was taken by his beautiful features. His dark hair, dark eyes, round little button nose, those gorgeous lips. I couldn't believe that this child was five years old and was sitting in the same kind of chair my 8 month old had grown out of a month ago. Then I read his profile and my heart sunk. This beautiful child had seen and felt more rejection than anyone should ever have to experience. I was utterly heartbroken when I read that he has a twin sister who was adopted. Why wouldn't they choose him? I thought to myself and then I heard that all too familiar voice speak to my heart...

Will you choose him?

Please join us in praying for our precious ones. In the weeks to come, I hope to unpack for you more and more of what God has been showing us and share more about the boys.

Feel free to explore!

Each of the tabs at the top will give you more insight into this incredible journey God has called us to.
