Missionary mama is a concept that God spoke into my heart while I was pregnant with our first (naturally) born son, Landon.
I was struggling with feeling like we were giving up our dream to go into missions so that we could live a "normal" life and raise a family. That's when God spoke to me and helped me see that there is a mission field that very few are brave enough to devote their lives to reaching and that is where He was calling me to go.
That mission field is called "the home."
God reminded me of all of the chaos and evil that is invading our homes today. He reminded me that marriage is the first institute that He put into place and it is the biggest thing under attack in this day and age. The enemy knows that if he can get into marriages, he can erode and destroy families, and by destroying families, he will wreak havoc on all of society.
I sensed God asking, "who will go? "Who will be brave enough to fight for their families and show the world how My love is supposed to operate?"
That day I determined that I would go. It may not be glamorous and most days my efforts wont even seem like they're being noticed or that they're making a difference, but I determined that I would be a missionary mama
What that means to me...
I will fight for my marriage and will work hard to cultivate a marriage that is deep and sacred.
We will strive to love our children with the same kind of relentless, unconditional, crazy love that Jesus has poured out on us.
We will work hard to build a home that is a lighthouse and a welcome haven to the hurting and broken world outside it's door.
I am very passionate about my calling as a missionary mama and love to speak about what God has taught me through this crazy beautiful life He has blessed me with.
